I am an expressionist painter and i am formally trained in art and design. I have a bachelor of arts degree in fashion design from one of the UK's leading art and design institutions, Winchester Schoolof Art in Hampshire which is part of the world renowned University of Southampton. One of the oldest art establishments in the UK dating back almost 150 years.
From a very young age i have always felt an inner passion and strong desire to express my very eclectic emotions whether it be in drawing and painting, dance or music and song.
For me it is the most powerful form of expressionism and also escapism. When i paint i endeavour to reflect my passion and emotion of my life experiences onto the canvas thus, hopefully giving the viewer a moving and reactive ambivalence.
My paintings are so precious to me as i like to think a part of me and my soul is transpired on to the canvas and i truly aspire to portray that to my audience.
The inspiration behind my most recent works;
Throughout art history the female nude has been depicted in a vulnerable, controlled and submissive manor.
Within my paintings I want to portray the female nude in an empowered, independent and confident poise and depiction.
As my work is very expressive and emotive the palette I've used also reflects the emotion that I think best represents the mood of the model/nude.
For example reds for passion, yellow, orange for energy and happiness and blues and purples for deep emotions and feeling..
